This client loves collecting antiques and she purchased several antique doors when designing her family’s second home outside of Houston. This particular door hangs in the main powder room. It’s made from old growth pine and dates back to late 18th century Spain. Many of the doors in her collection incurred substantial water damage while in storage, so our company was tasked with fully restoring them, which included untwisting the warped areas and replacing/ patching any damaged parts while preserving the original texture and patina. It’s jobs like this that make us feel connected to history and to the craftsmanship of woodworkers from long ago.
