This client chose the Palace of Versailles as the inspiration for her family’s home in Piney Point Village. We presented the idea of using antique, gold doubloon coins (from the same year that the Palace of Versailles was constructed) as inlay accents in the border surrounding the family room. The border background is walnut and cherry with an inlay of Australian lacewood that was hand selected for its strong fleck and ray. The client loved the design so much that she decided to add more coins years later with each one representing the year that each of her grandchildren were born. Floors don’t get much more special than that!
